I was a cadet Sergeant in the Almaguin Air Cadets when Don Dorst, Joe DiProfio senior and the crew started putting a serious effort into this airport. It's certainly come a long way. And I am very proud of the beginning efforts that have allowed it to reach to this point. It's looking more and more like a higher altitude 'Gateway to The North'. Congratulations. Capt. As Chair of the Committee representing the Village and Municipal owners of this 76 year old airport I can assure you that we are all working hard to aquire the funding to hard surface our runways. Grant applications are being prepared to provide funds to contract a professional Development Plan. The purpose is to build a modern airport facility to assist and encourage private investment which in turn will create badly needed jobs and training schools. Attracting flying tourists from U.S. and Canada is another. 10/05/2009 06:09
